05 Installation Notes
To install Orbis Linux, download the ISO file and write it to a USB drive using a tool like Balena Etcher (Windows/macOS/Linux) or Rufus (Windows).
Boot your computer from the USB drive. You will be greeted with the Orbis Linux live desktop. Click the "Install Orbis Linux" icon on the desktop to launch the installer.
The installer will guide you through:
- → Language and locale selection
- → Keyboard layout
- → Disk partitioning
- → User account creation
- → System installation
After installation, remove the USB drive and reboot. You will be greeted with the SDDM login screen.
06 Known Issues
⚠ Known Issues in 1.0 "Core"
- Calamares welcome screen may display generic distribution name during installation. This does not affect the installed system.
- Plymouth boot splash may not display on all hardware configurations.
- Some NVIDIA proprietary drivers may require manual installation after setup.
- Turkish keyboard layout must be set manually in live session.
